So, some shortcomings are expected. However, the deliveries are unreliable time-wise.
Missed days, late deliveries, calls to ask if delivery is coming, no deliveries on Saturday, no door-to-door deliveries, 2-day-old news, walks to the street to get the paper by the elderly, all are a lot for a customer to withstand. However, we have to have our newspapers. $41 a month is quite a stretch to put up with all these inconveniences. But we do it.
How about a little less of a price tag to help heal the outrage? Thank you, Richie and Patty Porcaro.

I contacted HR department gannett about a deplorable condemned building that theyre forcing their employees to work out of in Nashville Tennessee 16 on December 5 in Nashville with elderly people freezing trying to get papers to deliver and the HR department laughed it off said it was not their problem. Because regardless they get paid

Monthly rates for subscription
I received a letter in early summer stating that my subscription rate would change to $35, plus tax, per month effective from 7/1/24. However, since that time, my rate has fluctuated monthly and is nowhere near a $35 rate.
The explanation given was that I am being charged an additional $12 a month for colored special edition sections. These additional charges are simply the billing department making necessary adjustments.
None of this is an acceptable explanation. My monthly bill should be as quoted and the same each month.

Charged After Cancelation
I was charged AFTER my subscription was canceled. Was told I was going to get a refund by two agents.
Only to be told they don't do refunds. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR MEDIA! They will over-charge you. The customer service is absolutely atrocious.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from them at all. Each agent I spoke to said a refund would be incoming, only then to be told "whoops! Looks like we made a mistake!" DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!
I already know the response will be something along the lines of "wE dOn'T rEfUnD OnLiNe MeMbErShIpS!" But the difference here is that I was told by TWO - count 'em - 2 - different customer service representatives that a refund WAS being processed.
If anything, they should live up to their word and not lie to people. Show some respect.

I'd give them a 0 rating if I could
Since taking over my local paper the Daytona Beach News Journal service has gone downhill. You can no longer find a live person in order to place a simple ad in the paper.
They make you go to an online site which, even though I would consider myself computer savvy, is not user friendly. I gave up and decided I would advertise through my local community sites (NextDoor, FB community residents only and FB marketplace).
They are all free to place ads so I saved myself approx. $60 by not using Gannett's newspaper.F

Suggestion Regarding Subscription Service
I subscribe to 3 Gannett online newspapers. Customers must deal with each newspaper separately when subscribing, paying or even adding additional newspapers.
I would suggest:
1. A single Gannett site displaying all of your newspapers so a customer can simply click on the Gannett newspapers one wishes to subscribe to (perhaps customer like me would select several additional newspapers);
2.
On this singe new site the payment method, customer address, customer emails and phone number or other related information for all subscriptions could be updated in one place rather than needing to go each newspaper site.
3. Customers could then communicate with each newspaper for all other matters by going to each newspaper site.
I believe that this would be an excellent method to grow your subscribers and it would be a tool of great convenience us customers.

Resolved: Sports announcements in the paper!
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Nothing changed. The sporting events have passed.
My local paper was overtaken by Gannett. They stopped Letters to the Editor.
They also refused to list this past few weeks Soccer tournaments, both European and Local North and South American tourney. All other sports announced, with HEAVY emphasis on MLS fixtures.

Impossible to reach their customer service department
To get information about a billing from Gannett corporation. I have tried to call them repeatedly and nobody ever answers their customer service number saying that it is after their hours. No email response from them either.

Subscription question
The pandemic has slowed but the news in the Erie Times News is still 2 days old by the time I receive my newspaper. Also: The paper, as you know is now being delivered by the USPS.
The paper comes at a different time every delivery day. Sometimes noon, sometimes 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and even after 6pm. They don't use plastic bags like a delivery person so the paper is soaked when delivered. Also The paper is folded several times making it difficult to read to say the least.
The USPS can't deliver the mail properly let alone the Newspaper. Not a Good change doing away with live Erie Times News carriers. Nuff Said!
